Petrol Prices Drop Again as Dangote Acts

Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals has cut the price of its high-quality Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), commonly known as petrol, by another N15.

In a statement released on Thursday, the company announced that Nigerians can now buy petrol at the following prices: N875 per litre in Lagos, N885 in the South West, N895 in the North West and North Central, and N905 in the South East, South South, and North East.

The new prices will apply at all partner stations, including MRS, AP, Heyden, Optima, TechnOil, and Hyde.

The refinery urged other marketers to join its growing partner network and support President Bola Tinubu’s Nigeria First policy, which promotes the use of locally-produced goods and services.

Since launching operations, Dangote Refinery has actively pursued cost-reduction strategies to provide Nigerians with direct financial relief.

In February 2025, the company reduced petrol prices twice, lowering the cost by a total of N125 per litre. In April, it introduced a further reduction of approximately N45 per litre.

The refinery has also slashed the prices of other key products such as diesel and Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG), boosting affordability in the transportation, industrial, and domestic energy sectors.
